Houston Methodist receives prestigious Most Wired award.
A global healthcare IT organization has once again recognized Houston Methodist with HealthCare’s Most Wired award for outstanding technology implementation and adoption.
This year marks the 11th year we’ve received the prestigious Most Wired Award.
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is comprised of 2,700 members in 51 countries. CHIME surveys healthcare organizations annually to identify those on the leading edge of improving patient care using technology – encompassing foundational, population management and value-based care.
Globally competitive.
“This award highlights the significant IT successes Houston Methodist has achieved,” said new CIO Ken Letkeman.
“I am proud to have joined our IT Division as we continue working strategically with our operational partners to identify and adopt innovative best practices and technologies that enhance patient care,” he said.
Achieving this award, and for nearly a dozen years, provides recognition that Houston Methodist is leading IT among a field of global competitors. The award provides external validation that we’re staying focused on leveraging technology to improve patient care.
What they’re measuring.
Here’s what CHIME identified this year for successful healthcare IT, citing these criteria as necessary to effectively transform healthcare.
- Foundational technologies: integration, interoperability, security and disaster recovery
- Transformational technologies: supporting population health management, value-based care, patient engagement and telehealth
